Brown Chipotle Chiles (Capsicum Annuum) are made from the familiar Jalapeno Chile. Chipotle Chiles are first smoked, then dried. These chilies have a unique, medium - hot smokey flavor and are popular in many Southwestern dishes. Size is 1-1/2 to 3 inches in length with long, vein-like ridges and a tan to coffee brown color. Consider the Chipotle a 5-6 on a scale of 1-10.
